Mr Mason is one of the country’s most experience officials.

He first took charge of Football League games in 2002 and was promoted to the Premier League list in 2006, prior to that he had been an Assistant Referee at both Football League and Premier League level.

During his years on the Football League list, Mr Mason took charge of two Brentford games, both during the 2004/05 season.

The first was a 3-0 loss away to Peterborough United while the other was a 1-0 FA Cup win over Hartlepool United at Victoria Park.

Current Middlesbrough goalkeeper Dimitrios Konstantopoulos played in goal for Hartlepool and Brentford won the game 1-0.
