A match versus top and bottom and a scoreline that maybe underlines the difference. However the Bees certainly knew they were in a game tonight as the bottom dogs refused to lie down.
But full credit to the Bees who had to rise above some heavy challenges against a side who are fighting to move away from their unenviable position at the foot of the table. Also full marks to the Bees as many would not have been able to withstand some of the pressure Bury exerted as they forced 15 corners during the match. But in the end they went nap and in doing so extended their lead at the top to two points with a game in hand.
The Bees opened the scoring as early as thirty five seconds when Ijah Anderson played the ball down the right flank for Lloyd Owusu who took control and ran on to fire the ball right footed past keeper Paddy Kenny.
But Bury tried hard to get back on level terms just two minutes later when first a shot from Syros was blocked and then Owusu blocked the ball just short of the line from Redmond.
