Brilliant Brentford storm back to silence the critics with a four goal mauling of fellow promotion challengers Brighton in front of a live TV audience.
In front of a crowd of 7475, The Bees started the match with great purpose, closing down quickly anyone in a blue and white striped shirt.
It was no suprise that Brentford opened the scoring, Ivar Ingimarsson headed home a corner from the right by Stephen Hunt on 22 minutes.
Then 10 minutes from the break, Brentford extended their lead when Ben Burgess turned in a Michael Dobson cross from the right. Dobson won a ball he had no right to and qualified for a worthy assist.
Most Bees fans expected Brighton to come out with more purpose after the break but Brentford provided more of the same, Lloyd Owusu glancing a header just wide from a long Dobson throw.
But the goal of the night came on 58 minutes, Ben Burgess' fantastic volley over goalkeeper Royce and into the Brighton net. The floodgates then opened, Brentford storming forward in wave after wave of attack, and three minutes later Steve Sidwell wrapped up the scoring. The on loan midfielder gratefully stroked home from the edge of the area, Burgess providing a neat dummy from an Anderson cross.
All in all a memorable performance, and one the division will sit up and take notice of:
BRENTFORD ARE BACK!
