Brentford made all the early running, with five minutes gone Paul Evans firstly made Ian hughes head over for a corner and then the Welshman hit the bar with a cross cum shot, which had James Pullen beaten.
A superb Michael Dobson cross on seven minutes from the right hand side gave Ben Burgess a great opportunity but he headed the ball a fraction over the bar. David Theobald also volleyed a shot just wide moments after.And for all The Bees endevour they got their rewards, Martin Rowlands broke the deadlock on sixteen minutes after Ben Burgess played a neat pass from the middle after Tommy Jaszcun made a mess of things and Rowlands made no mistake firing a shot along the turf past Pullen from the edge of the area.
Then contender for goal of the season came six minutes later from Lloyd Owusu. With his back to goal, he teed the ball up and volleyed it into the net from a full twenty yards to give Brentford a two goal lead, which merited applause from all sides of the ground.Blackpoool made a rare incursion to Brentford's half with five minutes left of the half but Paul Smith made a good save, diving low to his left.
Brentford scored a third goal on 47 minutes, Martin Rowlands teased the Blackpool defence and delivered a pin point cross to Lloyd Owusu, whose header from ten yards out nestled firmly into the net.Ten minutes later, Ben Burgess forced Pullen into a fine save following good interlinking between him and Lloyd Owusu.
Blackpool captain Ian Hughes was rightly booked a scything challenge on Owusu on 65 minutes. With eighteen minutes left, Anderson was impedied and Paul Evans quickly took the free kick with a cheeky chip that salied just over.Danny Boxall replaced Martin Rowlands for the last thirteen minutes with Jay Tabb on for Stephen Hunt a minute later.
Blackpool pulled one back with eight minutes left, Scott Taylor chipping Paul Smith, who was caught in no man's land and Taylor nearly repeated the feat from the left hand side straight from the kick off, but was just wide, much to Smith's and the travelling Bees fans relief.
In injury time Burgess shot into the side netting, but Brentford held on for three points.
