In the blistering heat in TW8 - Brentford and Oldham played out a 0-0 draw in front of 5356 spectators at Griffin Park
It could have been billed as "youngest versus oldest", The Latics fielding, David Eyres, who at thirty eight was old enought to be fathers to most of the Brentford side.
Oldham clearly had a game plan - and that was to frustrate the young Brentford team. The closest Oldham got to breaking down the Bees defence was in the thirty seventh minute, Michael Dobson clearing off the line.
The second half was slightly better, but just as on Tuesday, Brentford's opponents had a man sent off and Oldham went into their shell.
Fitz Hall was the offender, getting his second yellow card of the afternoon for a challenge on Rowan Vine.
Brentford stay forth in the division and have yet to concede a goal so far.
