The Bees great start to the season continued in Essex with a 1-0 victory over Colchester United.
Brentford travelled to a sunny Layer Road with Mark Peters and Stephen Evans taking their place on the bench.
Colchester dominated throughout the first forty-five minutes, forcing seven corners to The Bees two. Dean Morgan forced Paul Smith into a fabulous save, tipping his direct free-kick round the post with nineteen minutes gone. The Brentford defence was pinned back the only real chance from open play was restricted to Mark McCammon - whose one on one with U's keeper came to nothing with 39 minutes on the clock.
However, The Bees took a shock lead with their second penalty award of the campaign on the stroke of half-time. Mark McCammon was bundled over by substitute Danny Steele and Stephen Hunt despatched the spot kick.
The second half was a better affair for Brentford, as they kept Colchester at bay, the best effort came four minutes from time, U's sub Opara's shot on the turn was cleared away. Kevin O'Connor
and Leo Roget worked tirelessly for Brentford.
Brentford have now gone 373 minutes without conceding a goal.
