A last-minute winner from Marc Bircham gave Queens Park Rangers their first win at Griffin Park
The Rangers midfielder scored with seconds left to give Brentford no chance of replying after it seemed Mark Peters 80th minute goal had ensured honours would be even.
Rangers had taken the lead after eight minutes, Danny Shittu rising to head home left-back Gino Padula's corner. The weather conditions played a huge part in proceedings, swirling winds keeping both defences occupied.
After the break, Brentford moved up a gear, Rangers goalkeeper Chris Day keeping his side in it with a series of saves.
He palmed Stephen Hunt's 50th-minute drive round the post, and denied Kevin O'Connor
with a last-ditch save. At the other end, Bees defender Ibrahima Sonko was forced to clear the ball off the line twice in goalmouth melees.
Brentford got the goal they richly deserved ten minutes from time, Mark Peters drove home - substitute Steve Evans the provider. Evans also saw an angled drive tipped over as the Bees piled on the pressure, with Kevin O'Connor
header hitting the post.
Rangers had the final word however, firstly slamming a direct free-kick against the post and moments later hitting the winner.
