Two defensive errors in the second half gave Plymouth Argyle all three points at Griffin Park
After going behind to Ian Stonebridge's header as early as the ninth minute - given despite a push in the back on Michael Dobson in the build-up, Brentford fought back in the twenty-sixth minute. Michael Dobson's throw-in found Ben May in the Argyle penalty area. The teenage striker used his strength to turn on a six-pence and fire home from ten yards.
Despite getting on level terms, Brentford pressed the self-destruct button in the 57th minute. Stephen Hunt had two clear opportunities to clear the ball on the edge of the penalty area but was disposed, which give Mickey Evans the chance to put The Pilgrims ahead.
Six minutes before full-time, a terrible mix-up between Lee Fieldwick and goalkeeper Alan Julian led to Evans putting the game beyond doubt.
To compound Brentford's misery, Bees' centre-back Leo Roget was sent-off for a rash tackle on David Norris in injury-time.
