Brentford's trip to the West Country proved to be another fruitless sojourn as Cheltenham Town took the points with a 2-0 win.
A brace from Robins' striker Kayode Odejayi, the first inside four minutes and the second with 15 remaining, proved the difference between the teams as The Bees winless run continued.
Thomas Pinault had already forced an early save from Shane Higgs before Odejayi broke the deadlock.
A long throw from David Bird, one of many that bombed into the Brentford box through the evening, was allowed to bounce and the powerful striker rose to nod the ball on the bounce past Clark Masters.
The Bees, playing with a strong wind, were well in the game in the first period and could have gone in at least level.
Pinault thought he had scored when his first time effort from a poor clearance by Higgs almost caught the Cheltenham goalkeeper napping but he flung himself to his left to keep it out.
Clyde Wijnhard came within a whisker of his first Brentford goal when his header from a Darius Charles cross was turned onto the bar and over by Higgs and Alex Rhodes also forced a save from Higgs.
John Mousinho came closest to equalising in the dying stages of the first half when he picked up a Wijnhard header and let fly with his left foot but the shot arrowed inches wide.
But The Robins were also dangerous; Masters saved well from Damian Spencer and denied Odejayi from a tight angle, later he dived full length to keep out a Kristian O'Leary shot.
He also saved well from Gavin Caines when Brentford failed to clear a Cheltenham corner and Adam Griffiths cleared the loose ball off the line.
After the break, when they had the wind, Cheltenham held the upper hand.
Odejayi should have scored but headed over from close in and Melligan missed a similar headed chance.
Brentford offered little in the early stages but could have pulled level when Pinault lofted a ball through to Wijnhard but he fired high and wide from a good position.
It was no real surprise when Odejayi doubled the lead later in the game; he controlled a fine ball from Jerry Gill, turned his man and fired high past Masters.
Brentford tried to fight their way back into it, Charles headed over and Jo Kuffour had a shot deflected wide but it was Cheltenham who continued to have the bigger threat.
Brian Wilson headed wide from close range and Gavin Caines fired narrowly over.
But they couldn't extend their lead and settled for a 2-0 win.
