Brentford extended their unbeaten run to three with a 0-0 draw against Rotherham United at a sun-drenched Griffin Park in a match dominated by defences.
The Bees recorded their third consecutive clean sheet in picking up a hard-won point and in truth rarely looked like conceding.
But they did not open up the visitors' defence as often as they would have liked and were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.
Nathan Elder had The Bees' best chance of the afternoon late in the first half, narrowly failing to convert the move of the match.
Charlie MacDonald started it deep inside his own half, breaking from a Rotherham corner before feeding Marvin Williams on the right wing, he swung a cross in but Elder headed wide from eight yards out.
Drewe Broughton should have opened the scoring early on when he nipped in between Ben Hamer and James Wilson but shot wide under pressure.
And he wasted an even better chance late in the piece when Reuben Reid broke from deep and freed him on the edge of the box but he dithered and the exceptional Wilson got back to make a block.
Brett Johnson headed wide and Elder and Craig Pead had efforts blocked while Reid volleyed over at the other end.
MacDonald almost opened the scoring soon after the re-start when he turned well in the box but Ian Sharps blocked his effort and Elder headed the resulting corner wide.
Nick Fenton had a header scrambled away and Alex Rhodes shot wide while Elder headed an Adam Newton cross wide as time ticked on.
MacDonald almost won it when he narrowly failed to connect with an Elder knock down and Elder had a shot blocked in the dying minutes but the game never really looked like producing a goal and ended with neither goalkeeper making a noteworthy save.
