Development Squad defender Aaron Pierre has joined Skrill Premier promotion-chasing Cambridge United on loan until early 2014.
The 20-year-old has been at Brentford since the summer of 2011 and signed a new one-year contract earlier in 2013.
He linked up with Cambridge this morning and has agreed to stay with United until January 4.
Aaron played 19 games from Brentford’s Development Squad in the Under-21 Professional Development League last season and also made his First Team debut in a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie against Southend United.
He was an unused substitute in four further First Team games.
He has made two further First Team appearances as a substitute this season, in a Capital One Cup tie against Derby County and a JPT game against Dagenham and Redbridge, and started all seven games for Brentford’s Development Squad in the Under-21 Professional Development League.
Ose Aibangee, Brentford Academy Director, said: “Aaron is at the stage where he needs to play competitive First Team football.
“Cambridge are offering him a great opportunity to train at a good level and play in games that are extremely important.
“We have a good relationship with Cambridge Head Coach Richard Money.
“Aaron will be going in to a good environment at a club pushing for promotion.
“This will be great for his development and we will see how he goes over the next few weeks.”
Cambridge are currently top of the Skrill Premier having taken 45 points from their first 20 games.
They are four points clear of Luton Town in second place.
United play seven league games between now and January 4 as well as FA Trophy matches, starting with a First Round tie against Salisbury on Saturday, November 30.
They also have an FA Cup with Budweiser First Round Replay against Bury next week but Aaron will not be available as he was not registered before the cut-off date for the round.
