Brentford Football Club again sends congratulations to Andrew Lapthorne who has just won his second tournament in three weeks in the United States. Andy, a Bees fan and Brentford Football Club and Community Sports Trust Disabled Ambassador, joined forces with fellow Brit Peter Norfolk to win the Florida Open Quad Doubles titles in Boca Raton. This is the second win for the all British duo this year as they won their second Australian Open Grand Slam doubles title in January. This latest win, against the top seeds on their own soil, is their second title at Super Series level, the highest tier of stand-alone wheelchair tennis tournaments and only second in importance to the Grand Slams. Their first was in last year`s US Open in St Louis. Andrew`s latest success comes just two weeks after he beat American World No 2 David Wagner to win the Quad Singles title at the Cajun Classic in Baton Rouge. Andrew is currently competing in America during the qualification period for the London 2012 Paralympics which closes on May 20th and his excellent form bodes well for inclusion in the team this summer.
