Max Herbert signs for the Youth Team

Brentford have added a new scholar to their ranks with the signing of midfield player Max Herbert.

The 17-year-old will join The Bees for the second year of his scholarship and be part of the Youth Team group.

Max left Wycombe Wanderers in the summer after the Buckinghamshire side closed their youth department and joined Brentford after some impressive performances in pre-season for both the Youth Team and Development Squad.

Max – along with the other second-year scholars Sam Beale, Josh Clarke, Myles Hippolyte, Joe Maloney, Tyrell Miller-Rodney, Aaron Scott and Stefan Tomasevic – will complete his two-year scholarship this season and have the chance to turn professional at the end of the 2012/13 campaign.

Ose Aibangee, Brentford’s Director of Youth Development, said: “Max is a good ball-playing midfielder.

“He is equally comfortable in the middle and on the wing and is someone who clearly has that spark of quality.

“We look forward to having him at Brentford and seeing how he will develop over the coming months.”
