Liam O’Brien has signed for Brentford after training with the Club this month.
The ex-Barnet and Portsmouth goalkeeper has joined on a short term contract, which will see him compete for a First Team place alongside David Button and Jack Bonham.
He spent three seasons with Barnet, making 22 First Team appearances, after starting his professional career at Fratton Park.
It is expected Liam, 21, will act as cover while Richard Lee recovers from a shoulder injury sustained in March of this year.
Brentford manager Uwe Rösler said: “We’ve signed Liam on a short term contract and then we will see how the situation develops.
"From what Liam has shown in his short period at the Club I’m delighted to have him here.
"The risk is too high to have only two fit goalkeepers as Richard Lee is not able take part in full First Team training at the moment.
"It will take a few weeks more and we want to be covered in all areas.”
Sporting Director Mark Warburton said: "It is a pleasure to welcome Liam to the club.
"He has impressed over the last few days whilst training with the First Team squad and has clearly shown the attributes required to offer us excellent keeper cover for the next few weeks.
"Richard Lee is of course working hard and continuing his rehabilitation but is still some time away from full match fitness and therefore Liam will offer both cover and competition to David and Jack as we continue through our early season fixture schedule."
