He died in the early hours of Friday morning at the age of 87.
Frank joined his hometown club Southend United, scoring 32 goals in 88 appearances before a move to Leeds United in 1949.
He spent two years at Elland Road, and a similar spell at Southampton before transferring to Cardiff City.
It was there that he caught the attention of Brentford manager Bill Dodgin Senior, who signed him in 1953.
He made his debut against Derby County on December 19, 1953 in a Second Division match.
Frank eventually made 72 Football League appearances for Brentford, scoring 32 goals before a move to Folkestone Town in 1957, where he ended his playing career.
Brentford FC would like to pass on the condolences of everyone involved with the Club to Frank's family at this time.
