Development Squad winger Josh Clarke has joined Braintree Town on a Youth Loan.
Josh completed his two-year scholarship last summer and signed a one-year professional contract, as part of the Development Squad.
He made his First Team debut in the Capital One Cup defeat to Derby County this season and also featured in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie against Peterborough United.
He has been an unused substitute on two more occasions.
This is Josh’s second loan spell of the campaign; he spent a month on loan at Maidenhead United, who play in the Skrill South, over the Christmas period.
He will stay at Braintree until Wednesday March 12.
Ose Aibangee, Brentford FC Academy Director, said: “Josh has made substantial progress over the past few years.
“Before he joined us as a scholar in 2011 he was basically playing park football.
“He has a lot to learn to get to the level required for the professional game but has made great strides and has all the raw ingredients.
“He had a good spell at Maidenhead over Christmas despite weather interruptions to the match programme.
“It was good for him to get more men’s football and play in First Team games.
“This move will enable him to play more First Team football at a higher level.
“Braintree have a lot of games to play and Josh can be involved in that programme.
“With the Skrill Premier table being so tight, there is a lot to play for so these games will really matter.
“That can only help Josh’s development.
“We will assess him while he is at Braintree and look at how he has progressed when he returns.”
Josh, who turned 19 in July, played 17 games in the Professional Development League last term, scoring once.
He has been involved in nine games for Brentford in the Under-21 Professional Development League this season.
He played two games for Maidenhead this season, during a period when games were affected by the weather.
Josh also had a short work experience spell at Ryman Premier League Carshalton Athletic last season, playing eight games and scoring once.
