Development Squad winger Josh Clarke has returned to Brentford following the completion of his loan spell at Maidenhead United.
The winger made two appearances for Maidenhead in a weather interrupted month-long loan spell at York Road featuring in the games against Sutton United and Chelmsford City.
Josh completed his two-year scholarship at Griffin Park
in the summer and signed a one-year professional contract, as part of the Development Squad.
He made his First Team debut in the Capital One Cup defeat to Derby County and also featured in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie against Peterborough United.
Ose Aibangee, Brentford FC Academy Director, said: “Josh learned a lot in his spell at Maidenhead despite the weather interruptions to the games programme.
“It is important to get players like Josh into men’s football especially over the busy Christmas period where games come thick and fast.
“With no Development Squad games over Christmas it is an ideal time for Josh to get men’s football game time.
“Experiences like this can only help in younger player’s development and Josh has learned a lot both on and off the pitch during his time at Maidenhead.
“It is now important for Josh to bring what he has learned on loan back to Brentford and continue to impress for the Development Squad and push for First-Team football.”
Josh, who turned 19 in July, played 17 games in the Professional Development League last term, scoring once.
He has been involved in all seven games for Brentford in the Under-21 Professional Development League this season.
