Young defender Kieran Morris has signed a one-year contract with Brentford’s Development Squad.
The centre back, who has just turned 18, impressed during a trial period and this afternoon completed the formalities of his first professional contract.
Kieran, who was on the books at Stourbridge at youth level, played for England Schoolboys in the Under-18 Centenary Shield and England Colleges last season.
He played for The Bees at Youth Team and Development Squad level last season, playing four times in the Under-18 Professional Development League, scoring once, and once in the Under-21 Professional Development League.
Kieran went away with the Development Squad on a pre-season training camp and played in behind closed doors friendly games against Derby County and West Bromwich Albion.
Jon De Souza, Brentford Development Squad Manager, said: “Kieran played several games last season with the Youth Team, and impressed enough to be offered an opportunity to train and play with the Development Squad this pre-season.
“He played against Derby and West Brom, and impressed us enough to offer him a one year deal.
“He is 18, so will be a first year pro.
“He is a tall strong centre back, who is extremely good in the air, and has excellent leadership skills.
“He is also comfortable on the ball, and has a terrific work effort and desire.”
Kieran spoke to Bees Player after signing his contract this afternoon, a full video interview will be available shortly.
