Development Squad striker to stay at Sky Bet League Two side until early January

Development Squad striker Luke Norris has extended his loan at Northampton Town until the start of 2014.

The 20-year-old joined the Sky Bet League Two side on October 18.

He scored the winning goal for The Cobblers against Fleetwood Town on Saturday, November 16, to take his tally to five goals in six games.

Luke has today, Monday November 18, signed an extension to his loan deal.

He will now stay with Northampton until January 4.

Luke, who is on a Development Squad contract, played three games for Brentford’s First Team this season before joining Northampton and scored in a Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win over AFC Wimbledon.

He has scored one in four games for the Development Squad in the Under-21 Professional Development League Two South this season.

Luke has been at Brentford since the summer of 2010, when he signed a scholarship.

He turned professional in the summer of 2012 after excelling in the Youth Team and signed a new one-year Development Squad contract in the summer.

The striker finished as Brentford’s top scorer in the Professional Development League last season, hitting ten goals in 18 games.

Luke played seven games for Boreham Wood in the Conference South last season, scoring three goals.

He made his Brentford debut as a 17-year-old in April 2011 when he was a first-year scholar and has made five First Team appearances in total, scoring once.
