Development Squad central defender Alfie Mawson has been recalled from his loan spell at Maidenhead United and joined Luton Town in another temporary switch.
Alfie played nine games for Maidenhead – who play in the Skrill South – in two spells last season and joined them for a second time at the start of October.
He has played four games for the Berkshire side this season.
Alfie was recalled to Brentford this afternoon and has now linked up with Skrill Premier promotion-chasers Luton Town.
He has signed a loan deal until January 4 2014.
Ose Aibangee, Brentford FC Academy Director, said: “Alfie’s time at Maidenhead has been good for his development.
“He has got used to playing competitive men’s football week in week out and got used to the rough and tumble of non-league football.
“Maidenhead are a good club and play a similar style of football to the one we do in our Academy so it was a good fit for Alfie.
“However, we had the opportunity to get him games at a higher level and it was one that will be good for Alfie.
“He will go to a good club pushing for promotion back to the Football League and will be playing games where there is a lot at stake.
“Alfie has had a taste of being in a professional First Team environment at Brentford and he will get more of that at Luton.
“It is the next stage of his development and we will watch closely how he goes over the next few weeks.”
Alfie, 19, is in the second year of a two-year Development Squad contract he signed last summer after excelling in Brentford’s Youth Team.
In an injury-hit 2012/13 season, Alfie played 11 games for The Bees in the Under-21 Professional Development League Two South.
He has played seven games this term, scoring twice.
He also made his First Team debut in the Capital One Cup tie defeat against Derby County in August.
Alfie spoke to Bees Player on Tuesday after Brentford’s Development Squad were beaten by Ipswich Town in an Under-21 Professional Development League Two South match.
He talked about his time at Maidenhead.
