SUCCESSFUL GOLF DAY
Given the English summer so far witnessed, the golfers who took part in the Pre Season Golf Day at Strawberry Hill GC could not have wished for a better day.
Ten teams teed off shotgun style at 9.30am sharp on the first nine holes before settling down to lunch in the company of the players at 12.30pm.
At the half way stage Mark Burridge`s team of four were just one point ahead of Paul Hewson`s team, with 58 points (best three scores count).
Teams recommenced at 1.30pm on the second nine and on completion Paul Hewson`s team had fallen away to be replaced by Medical Technical (J Hendry, K Fogden, D Fogden and I Picar). But Mark Burridge`s team (Mark, T Cockerill, J Malcolm and A O`Connell) withstood the challenge and eventually won with 117 points, three clear of their nearest challengers.

Mark Burridge also scooped the Best Individual Front Nine award with 22 points while Francesco Rossi`s 21 points in the afternoon won him a similar award.

But back to the lunch break and the players were there en masse to meet the golfers, while former Bee Ken Horne also paid a visit showing off his Brentford FC Golf Winners Trophy dating back to 1952.

All in all an excellent day which was well supported by teams and Hole Sponsors alike, not to mention the generous Sponsorship of Heath & Brown Insurance who also sponsored a team including Bees Assistant Manager Andy Scott.
Plans are now in hand for the next Golf Event, A Game of Two Halves, which will take place on Tuesday 2nd October. Full details to be announced.
