Charlie won the Powerade Player of the Month award for February on his way to scoring 18 goals. But a dislocated shoulder necessitated him missing the final run in.
London born Charlie signed professional forms for Charlton in 1998 but failed to make his mark in the four years at The Valley instead gaining experience out on loan. But he then started to make his mark in non league circles with Stevenage Borough, Crawley Town and Gravesend & Northfleet before signing for Southend United in 2007, which is from where Brentford signed him in the summer of 2008.
