After tonight's opening pre season friendly Bees Manager Andy Scott said: "I was very pleased with it this evening. We got a couple of knocks which was probably the most disappointing part of it but thankfully they weren't too bad. We played with ten men for the last fifteen minutes or so when Karleigh went off. But I don't mind that as I wanted to play a game with a man short to get the lads used to it for it happens sometimes, but I think Ipswich are not the team you want to be a man down against!

I was very pleased with the first half. Obviously the second half, when we made a few more changes after the hour, got a little bit scrappy as the lads got a bit tired. We also had some young boys on the pitch but overall I was pleased.

A major part of these games is about fitness but we've worked a lot on team shape, going forward and our finishing positions and these matches will show where we are. Over the next couple of days we shall watch the video and see what we did right and what we did wrong, and adjust our training accordingly to make sure we get it right.

I'm also pleased that all the lads got some game time and the ones who played the majority of the game tonight will probably not feature so much in the next game. I'm looking for them all to get pretty much even game time."
