Tomorrow`s visit to Kingsmeadow sees The Bees take on Blue Square Conference South side AFC Wimbledon for The Supporters Direct Cup which they last competed for in 2004.

That match, also against AFC Wimbledon, took place here at Griffin Park in front of 2,562 and saw The Bees run out victors by two goals nil.

Since then it has been in the possession of three different clubs, AFC Wimbledon (2005), FC United (2006) and Enfield Town (2007).

The Cup, which is competed for by supporter owned clubs, was paid for by subscriptions from Supporters Trusts and individual fans, and is inscribed with former Scotland and Celtic Manager Jock Stein's maxim, "Football without fans is nothing."

Supporters Direct Chief Executive Dave Boyle said of Saturday's fixture, "This is an important event in our calendar, particularly given the previous season's success of four trust-owned clubs achieving promotion. The supporters of both Brentford and Wimbledon have achieved notable successes at their clubs, with Brentford close to the commencement of a massive project that will secure their long-term future in the borough. Wimbledon's success is there for all to see, with three promotions since 2002, and we hope this year brings them another step closer towards their dream of League football once more."
