Brentford manager Andy Scott hailed his team's defending after he watched them record their third straight away win at Luton Town.
Nathan Elder notched the only goal as The Bees picked up another three points and Scott was full of praise for the powerful striker but he reserved special mention for the defensive aspects of his team's play.
"We were stoic in defence," he said. "They never looked like creating a goal in open play.
"It was a little bit hairy at times, they have fantastic delivery from their set plays and they attack the ball very well but Ben Hamer's handling was exemplary - it was outstanding.
"We have experienced players in front of him and we defended well as a team and battled well as a team."
Scott praised the "responsibility" and "maturity" of his players, particularly in the later stages and after Luton skipper Keith Keane was dismissed for a last man foul on Charlie MacDonald.
"If you put your trust in players they respond," he said. "They are good players, they know the game.
"They understand when they need to keep the ball and when to break quickly.
"When they went down to ten we used the extra man very well, we slowed the game down when we needed to and broke when we had the chance.
"We have players that are maturing very quickly and they are being helped by the experienced players.
"When you are playing well the lads all want the ball and they were desperate for a clean sheet - they deserved it on Saturday [against Darlington] and they deserved it tonight."
