Midfielder Gary Smith believes he can contribute to Brentford's late season promotion push after featuring in the team for the first time this season.
Smith returned from a series of injuries to play on the right side of midfield against Barnet and lasted 73 minutes of the London derby.
He admitted it had been frustrating sitting on the sidelines but said he had been working hard to get back and was happy to play anywhere in the team.
"I have been injured for about five months and it has been awful," he said. "I have been grafting and training, trying to get my fitness.
"The team has been doing brilliantly and they are all my friends.
"If we get promoted and I help get a few results I think I will have done something.
"Hopefully I will do well."
