Brentford manager Andy Scott said his squad would be having a "knees up" on the coach back to celebrate winning the League Two title.
Scott - who has led his team to the title in his first full season in charge - said his team fully deserved the trophy, which will be presented after The Bees' game against Luton Town next Saturday, May 2.
The Bees' boss admitted it was a relief to secure promotion but said he was delighted for "the fans, the club and the players".
Brentford clinched it with a 3-1 win against a Darlington team which had Alan White sent off inside the first 80 seconds for elbowing Damian Spencer.
"It's massive for the club financially," he continued. "And it's great for the players to play against teams like Charlton and Southampton.
"It was a massive game for us and we knew it wasn't going to be easy.
"Sometimes a sending off can work against you but we dominated the game and got the third goal to round it off.
"I feel we have been the best side in the division and if we had kept everyone fit we would have had a much stronger squad to rotate in the last weeks.
"The lads gave me everything and everyone played a part.
"I have tried to keep everyone involved all year, even though some have not played much.
"When they have been asked they have come in and done the job required of them.
The Bees players celebrated on the pitch at the final whistle in front of more than 1,000 travelling fans.
Alan Bennett, who opened the scoring with his first goal of the season, said he couldn't put into words what it meant and paid tribute to the Bees supporters.
Marcus Bean said it was a brilliant feeling and Sam Wood said it was great the players had achieved their pre-season aim of getting promoted.
Scott said his players would be off for a post-season holiday to Las Vegas after clinching promotion and said they would enjoy the rest of the campaign and the challenge of League One.
"We can't foresee what will happen next season," he added. "But we will give a good account of ourselves.
"It will be difficult but the players have earned that chance."
