New signing Ben Strevens spoke exclusively to brentfordfc.co.uk following his recent transfer to the Bees from Dagenham and Redbridge.
Ben spoke of the unique scenario that also sees the Daggers' Sam Saunders and Danny Foster move across London to Griffin Park.
"It's a strange situation, but a good one, I know the boys very well and we all know how each other plays. We linked up well last season and I'm sure we will continue that form into next season, albeit with our new club.
"I'm feel like I'm going into the new season with real momentum, as Dagenham finished strongly, and I'm looking forward to getting started. Nobody expected Dagenham to compete on the level we did, we enjoyed being the underdogs and I think that Brentford will be in a similar position this season - from being one of the bigger teams in League Two to now competing on the same level with clubs that were in the Premier League not that long ago."
Having played against the his new team mates in two highly-competitive matches last season, Ben said that he knows what to expect when pre-season training starts next week.
"I know Charlie MacDonald from a few years back when we were briefly training at Charlton together, he's a great striker and I would hope that we can get a decent partnership going. I'm a team player and work hard for the team. I think that the lads will enjoy playing with me as I like to bring other people into the game.
"I was really impressed with the Brentford set-up last season - there was a great team spirit as well as lots of skill and hard work. The league table doesn't lie and the players absolutely deserved to finish as Champions, hopefully we can improve further and be an even better team this season."
