Brentford striker Carl Cort said his side were expecting a battle against Brighton and Hove Albion and the visitors did not disappoint.
The Bees drew their first home game of the League One season 0-0 and Cort said the team were expecting Brighton to come and try and frustrate.
"We didn't think they would out play us," said Cort. "But we knew they would be organised and happy to get a point.
"We had half chances and situations we could have done better on but it's a point and a clean sheet.
"We knew if we got a goal they would have to go for it and I don't think they have the quality to break us down.
"It didn't happen for us but we kept pressuring."
Cort said League One matches were more of a battle than he used to experience higher up the leagues but he was confident his quality would show through.
"The quality never goes," added Cort. "I have just been plagued by injuries. I know once I get the confidence back the quality will come out.
"I have played two full games. The fitness is coming back and the quality is coming back.
"I can't wait for the next game.
"They are good to me here, I can't train every day, they all me to do my own stuff and do what's best for me - that's why I can play week after week.
"I feel great, my knee feels as good as it can be."
