Brentford manager Andy Scott described his side's 2-1 win over Norwich City as a "great result" that he was "very, very pleased" with.
The Bees clinched their second win in three games since promotion thanks to goals from Ryan Dickson and David Hunt but were made to sweat when Owain Tudor Jones scored from a free kick in stoppage time.
Scott said his defence deserved the clean sheet and revealed he is on the verge of bringing a new defender to the club - a deal done before captain Alan Bennett limped off with a groin injury inside the first half hour against Norwich.
"It was a great result, a very good performance and I'm very, very pleased," said Scott."I would have been more pleased with a clean sheet, which we deserved.
"All the spotlight was on Norwich and Paul [Lambert]'s appointment [as The Canaries new manager hours before kick off].
"You saw what sort of response that got from my players - they don't like the limelight being taken away.
"I said to them people would be looking at Norwich and it was a chance for them to go away talking about Brentford.
"Our passing and movement was excellent and there is still more to come - that's the exciting thing.
"There are always aspects we can improve on."
