Brentford left back Ryan Dickson said he felt The Bees thoroughly deserved their 2-1 win over Norwich City as they hit back after a below-par first half performance.

Dickson scored his second Brentford goal when he headed in a David Hunt long throw to give The Bees the lead and Hunt went from provider to scorer when he notched the winner with 20 minutes remaining.

Dickson said manager Andy Scott had told him to go forward for the long throws against The Canaries and he felt he could have got on the end of more of them.

"I'm not bad in the air for my size," continued Dickson. "Before the game the gaffer [Scott] said they would send me up for the throws.

"I fancy myself getting on a few of them.

"Karleigh [Osborne] went in first and got underneath it, everyone was standing still and I got a running jump.

"It came at a really good time for us.

"First half we were up against it, we started a bit slow and we were lucky to get away with it.

"We gave 110 per cent in the second half and thoroughly deserved it."

Dickson paid tribute to Mark Phillips and Karleigh Osborne for the way they led the defence after captain Alan Bennett left the pitch with a groin injury and said the way the team was set up was earning it's rewards.

"We are very well organised," he added. "Everyone knows their jobs.

"Organisation in football is the key to winning games, if you don't concede goals you won't lose."
