Cleveland Taylor sought to play down his role in Brentford's 1-1 draw against Southampton - despite scoring the equalising goal.
Taylor levelled it up for Brentford with seven minutes remaining, heading in from close range after a fantastic run and cross from Ryan Dickson.
Taylor described Dickson's centre as "great" and said it was a good point for the team, who fought back after Dan Harding opened the scoring ten minutes prior to his goal.
"It was my first goal for Brentford, and my first goal for a long time," said Taylor. "But it's not about me.
"It was a great run and great cross [from Ryan Dickson]. All I had to do was finish it off, I'm glad I did.
"I don't know when my last headed goal was.
"I think we would be pleased with a point."
Taylor said he was sure he made the right decision in leaving Carlisle United to join Brentford in the first week of the season and said the situation at Brentford reminded him of his time at Scunthorpe United when he was promoted twice in three seasons.
"In every game we are the underdogs," he continued. "It's something that doesn't phase me.
"We will prove people wrong, we have belief in this squad."
