WILSON WANTED BEES RETURN
Defender James Wilson said Brentford were his first choice for a loan move when it became apparent he would not be playing games for Bristol City.
The 20-year-old signed on a one-month loan deal just before The Bees' trip to Southampton and he said now he has made the move to Brentford he would like to stay.
"I wasn't playing at Bristol City," he explained. "I wasn't involved. I wanted to get out on loan and this was the first club I looked to come to.
"I wanted to come back here, come back and play football, it's the next step up for me."
Wilson said he was not aware of discussions to keep him at Griffin Park for longer than the initial month but manager Andy Scott said in his post-match press conference he would be asking Bristol City.
"Now I am here, I would like to stay here and play games here," said Wilson. "But it's up to Bristol City.
"I'm contracted to them and if they want me to play for them that's perfect but I need to start playing games."
