Brentford manager Andy Scott said he was "very, very pleased" with his team's 0-0 draw away against big-spending Huddersfield Town.

The Bees' boss said he felt his defence full deserved their clean sheet, the second in seven league games this season, and said everyone at the club would have been happy with ten points, and only one defeat, from their first seven fixtures.

Scott said his team had worked on their defensive play after the 2-0 defeat against Charlton Athletic last week and admitted there was disappointment in the camp they had not won the game.

"We had the two best chances of the game," continued Scott. "They had a lot of possession but they couldn't break us down.

"We attacked with pace and were positive going forward.

"I was very, very pleased.

"We are disappointed we haven't won the game. They had a shot in the first five or six minutes, Jordan Rhodes had a header over the bar and they had one cleared off the line but the two clearest chances came to us.

"With the time left [when those chances came] we would have probably gone on to win if we score."

Scott said the return of MacDonald gave his team "an extra dimension" and explained he had made changes to his side - including playing James Wilson at right back - to counter Huddersfield and try to break with pace.

"We can change our shape around," he added. "We knew from reports that Huddersfield would try and exploit us in wide areas but they couldn't get any crosses in.

"The lads deserved their clean sheet."
