DERBY DEFEAT FRUSTRATES O'CONNOR

Posted on: Sun 18 Oct 2009

Brentford midfielder Kevin O'Connor said his team needed to keep clean sheets if they are to climb up the table.

The Bees slipped to a derby defeat against Leyton Orient that O'Connor described as "frustrating" and admitted the harsh words of manager Andy Scott afterwards were fully justified.

"I'm a believer of what is said in the dressing room says there," said O'Connor. "But [the manager] is right to say a few harsh words.

"The way we conceded the goals and the way it happened was very frustrating.

"The momentum swung their way after half an hour.

"[Nikki Bull] did really well to save their penalty but we conceded before half time.

"It would have been different it we had gone in at half time one up.

"I don't think we are a million miles away but we need to keep clean sheets, that will give us a chance to win games."
