Right back Danny Foster said the Brentford squad were "pretty down" after their 1-0 defeat to relegation-threatened Tranmere Rovers.
The Bees lost to a Craig Curran goal, scored on the hour mark when he ran over a free kick and was left unmarked from John Welsh's pass to slot it home.
Foster admitted the players were disappointed with the way they conceded the goal, and the result.
"The lads are pretty down after that," he admitted. "It was a disappointing result and we are disappointed by the way the goal was conceded.
"We have to dust ourselves down and work hard in training this week - we have a tough game next week [against Leeds United].
"It was a scrappy game from both sides, very little good play or passing moves.
"I feel for the last couple of games we have done well as a team, limited the opposition to a few chances - that makes the defeat hard to take.
"This is not what we wanted today, we were quite happy to come away with a point.
"It had 0-0 written all over it but we only have ourselves to blame."
