Brentford manager Andy Scott said the 1-1 derby draw with Charlton Athletic was proof of how far his team have come.
The Bees looked as if they might take all three points when half time substitute Carl Cort gave them the lead three minutes after coming off the bench.
But Nicky Bailey lashed home from the penalty spot to earn the visitors a draw and Scott said it showed his team were "going in the right direction".
"We are improving," he continued. "Today I thought at the end we looked more likely to get a winner.
"They are a good side, it shows how we have improved since we lost [to Charlton at The Valley] earlier in the season.
"Today we gave as good as we got, I thought it was a good game.
"It's still only one goal conceded in open play in the last nine games.
"We are eight unbeaten here, no-one fancies playing us anyway now but no-one likes coming here.
"We are a force to be reckoned with and we need to build on that.
"Charlton will be happy with a point."
Scott explained his half time introduction of Cort was in an effort to change the way his team were playing.
"I felt in the first half we were waiting for them to go ahead," he said. "We had to take the initiative.
"It wasn't happening for Rhys [Murphy, who was taken off,] and I thought Carl's experience would help.
"It was a decent finish and he did very well when he came on.
"That's why we have a squad, so we can use the best players available at the right time."
