Defender Leon Legge said the squad were "very happy" with the 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic.
The central defender - named Man of the Match by the sponsors - said he thought Brentford played some good football and dealt with most of what Charlton had to offer.
The Addicks only breached the Bees back line through a Nicky Bailey penalty, awarded for a foul by goalkeeper Lewis Price on Chris Dickson, and that gave them a share of the spoils after a Carl Cort goal early in the second period.
"We are very happy," said the former Tonbridge Angels man. "It was a good result.
"Charlton are a good team, they passed it well but I thought we played some good football.
"I couldn't see them creating anything.
"They had a lot of corners but we dealt with them very well.
"We dealt with everything they threw at us.
"I thought we were going to win it but a point against Charlton is a very good point.
"They will be the unhappy side going away with a point."
Legge said the team were happy with four points out of six from the Christmas programme and said it moved them up the table and in a position to improve further.
He added the last month had been beyond his expectations.
"With the FA Cup Player of the Round award, keeping my spot and a couple of Man of the Match awards it has been a strange month," he said. "But a good month.
"I never expected it to be like this.
"I just love playing football and want to be out on that pitch."
