Wojciech Szczesny has told Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger he wants to stay at Brentford for a little longer.
The Polish goalkeeper completed a second month on loan at Griffin Park with a Man of the Match performance in a 3-1 win over Carlisle United.
And the teenager, named as the star man by the match sponsors, said afterwards he would be meeting the Arsenal manager on Monday and hopes to be between the sticks for Brentford again shortly.
"I would be delighted to stay," said Szczesny. "We are seeing Arsene Wenger on Monday and I have said I want to stay.
"If he says it is OK I will play next Saturday, I won't be available on Tuesday.
"I really want to stay here and win some more games."
Szczesny said the win over Carlisle was "massive" and said he felt the penalty awarded to Carlisle should never have been given but played down a scarcely believable point-blank save from Joe Anyinsah midway through the second period as "luck".
"It was very important to win after the break," said the Polish stopper. "We finished the year on a high with wins over Gillingham and Milton Keynes Dons, it was important to start the new year with a win."
