Brentford Football Club were today advised by Ipswich Town that loanee Tommy Smith has provisionally been selected for the New Zealand squad who play Mexico in a Friendly in Los Angeles in the first week in March. This is a warm up game for New Zealand who are World Cup Finalists.

On hearing the news Andy Scott said: "We are delighted to have assisted Tommy in being provisionally selected for the New Zealand International squad who are due to play Mexico in a Friendly International game in Los Angeles in early March. One of the objectives of him coming here was to assist him in getting into the World Cup squad and this is a very positive step in the right direction."
