Brentford goal scorer Myles Weston said the players were happy to have taken something out of the game against Wycombe Wanderers as they knew they had not performed well.
Weston scored his tenth of the season to level it up with 15 minutes remaining after the visitors had taken the lead through Kevin Betsy.
Weston said: "We started slowly, we didn't start as we have been but good teams get stuff out of games and even though we didn't play well, we get something.
"We are happy with that.
"A sign of a good team is playing badly and getting something.
"We didn't start fast and they kept the pressure on us.
"But we didn't stop and got the goal."
Weston said he did not start the season with any goal targets - as he has failed to meet them in the past - but was hopeful he could add a few more to his tally with more than a third of the campaign remaining.
Describing the goal, he said: "It came to me and I was thinking about hitting it first time, but with the pitch that would have been the wrong decision.
"I took a touch and hit it, it went through a couple of legs and went in.
"I'm happy with that."
Weston admitted the pitch was difficult but said the Brentford team played on it enough not to use it as an excuse.
"We play on it more than anyone else," he added. "We need to stick to our game plan.
"Earlier in the season we would have got nothing out of that game.
"We are learning to keep going, keep sticking at it.
"We won't play well every week, it's impossible to do that.
"We didn't play our best but we still got a point."
