SCOTTY THANKS TOMMY
Bees central defender and loanee, Ipswich Town`s Tommy Smith, has been recalled by the Suffolk based Championship club to help bolster their squad, after the dismissal of Republic of Ireland international defender Damien Delaney on Saturday stretched their resources.
New Zealand international Tommy who made eight appearances whilst with us, is thus expected to go straight into The Tractor Boys squad for tomorrow`s game away to Watford.
Bees Manager Andy Scott said: "I would like to place on record my appreciation for Tommy`s effort, input and application during his time with us. I would also like to again thank Ipswich Town and in particular their Manager Roy Keane for his continued support. As disappointed as I am about Tommy`s loan being cut short I remain hopeful of him coming back to us at some point in the future and in the meantime wish him well."
As a result Brentford have recalled Alan Bennett, albeit just a day early from his loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers.
Andy Scott added: "I would like to welcome Alan back into the squad and am pleased that he returns to us with a good level of match fitness which was the very reason the loan was organised in the first place, benefitting both Alan and ourselves."
Alan has played five games for the League One side during his loan during which he has been on the losing side just once.
