David Hunt said it was an honour to have been named captain for Brentford's 0-0 draw with Exeter City.

The midfield man took over as skipper when Kevin O'Connor had to be withdrawn in the Good Friday draw with Millwall and lead the side against Exeter as O'Connor was ruled out.

"It's a great honour for me,"said Hunt, who has captained Shrewsbury Town and Northampton Town in the past.

"When I was told I was surprised, I felt overwhelmed, it was nice to do it.

"It's a nice experience, it means a lot to me."

Hunt admitted the players had been tired prior to the stalemate, due to the number of games played in a short space of time.

"Second half we were the better side," he continued, "Unfortunately it was 0-0.

"It was our first 0-0 in a long time.

"I think tiredness crept in but it was a clean sheet.

"Second half especially I don't think they had a shot on goal.

"The lads have ground out well but there was tiredness, which is understandable."
