Brentford manager Andy Scott described his team's 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town as the most complete performance since he had been at the helm.

Three goals in the last 20 minutes gave The Bees the win and Scott hailed his players for making a statement to the rest of the division about their intentions for the rest of the season.

And he said it was best showing by a Brentford team since he assumed the role of manager in December 2008.

"We played very well first half," said Scott. "The whole 90 minutes was the most complete performance since I have been in charge.

"After the run of games we have had, that is some effort.

"It's a statement of intent for the rest of the season.

"We have a set of lads who don't think the job is done.

"They are relentless in pursuit of reward for what they put in - and it showed today.

"It was a dominant performance against a side up there.

"We didn't give them a chance to get into their stride, we were all over them, they couldn't get into the game."

Scott said Pim Balkestein missed the game with a groin injury but Mark Phillips should be back in training soon and Kevin O'Connor was having stitches removed shortly.

He called the performance of Marcus Bean and Toumani Diagouraga in central midfield "dominant" and said the whole squad were determined to keep their current run of form - unbeaten in seven, one defeat in ten - going.

"I love managing this group of players," added Scott. "They continually please.

"They do the things we ask them to do and they love doing it.

"They want to carry this run on.

"We want to win as many games as possible and finish as high in the league as possible."
