Sam Saunders admitted he has no idea what happened for 20 seconds after he scored his first Brentford goal.
The former Dagenham and Redbridge wide man struck a 20-yard free kick to give The Bees a 1-1 draw against Yeovil Town.
Saunders admitted he feared it was not going in and cannot recall what happened next.
"The keeper was standing in the middle of the goal," explained Saunders. "I wanted to go over the wall but he was standing in the middle so it wasn't worth it.
"I saw a gap between Charlie MacDonald and the wall and tried to bend it round there.
"When I hit it, it looked like it would hit the post.
"Thankfully it went in and there were a mixture of emotions.
"To be honest, I don't know what happened for 20 seconds after the goal.
"There was a mixture of feelings.
"I have had a frustrating season, as everyone knows, but it was nice to get the goal and good to keep the unbeaten for the team.
"I enjoyed the goal, I have been the width of a post away six, seven, eight times.
"Luckily, today it went in."
Saunders said he was not sure if the penalty awarded for handball against Charlie MacDonald that lead to Gavin Tomlin giving Yeovil the lead should have been awarded.
But hailed the effort of the team to get back into the game.
"They got an early goal," said Saunders. "I don't know if it was a penalty but the boy scored it.
"Being down to the bare bones, we did well to keep going.
"Unfortunately, we didn't get the goal before half time but the gaffer [Andy Scott] said to be positive and keep going at them.
"It was a hot day, it took it out of the players, and they were taking time over throw ins and free kicks.
"But we managed to keep our unbeaten run going."
