June 2009

Brentford ended the previous season as champions and Andy Scott made some big decisions releasing 9 players - soon after the season ended. June was spent rebuilding the new squad.

June 11th: Kevin O'Connor signs a new contract for an additional two years. David Hunt also signs for an additional two years. Andy Scott confirms that the Club are in negotiations to sign Alan Bennett permanently after his contract at Reading expired.

June 16th: Brentford were drawn at home to Bristol City in the League Cup.

June 17th: Brentford announce that they had won the race to sign Danny Foster, Ben Strevens and Sam Saunders from Dagenham. The league fixtures are released and the Bees are drawn against Carlisle away in the first game of the season.
