August

1st August: Brentford start the month by beating Hayes 3-0 with Myles Weston scoring two and trialist David Lucas also scoring. They however suffer bad news as Ben Strevens injures himself.

August 3rd: Brentford add goalkeeper Nikki Bull to the squad as he signs for the Bees. - while Lewis Price is called up to the Welsh squad for the up and coming friendly International away to Montenegro in Podgorica. The club also confirm that Andy Scott and Terry Bullivant sign new improved contracts.

August 4th: Nathan Elder completes a move to Shrewsbury Town. In comes Carl Cort as a replacement who signs a 5 month contract. The Club also confirms that Ben Strevens has broken his fibula during the friendly with Hayes.

August 6th: Steve Kabba signs on a one year contract.

August 8th: Brentford win the opening game of the season with a 3-1 away win at Carlisle. Myles Weston scored twice on his Brentford début and Sam Wood notches the third..Andy Scott says his side were dominant.

August 11th: Simon Moore signs a one year contract with the Club while Sam Wood signs a new two year extension. The Bees go down to Gary Johnson's Bristol City 1-0 in the League Cup. Andy Scott says "I was disappointed with the goal but that was the only part of the game we didn't dominate".

August 13th: Brentford confirm the signing of Cleveland Taylor.

August 15th: Brentford draw their opening home game of the season with Brighton 0-0. Andy Scott says "The only side that was going to win it was us. They defended well, give credit to them, they made it difficult for us".

August 18th: Brentford beat Norwich City 2-1 with goals from goals from Ryan Dickson and David Hunt. Andy Scott describes it as a "great result".

August 20th: James Wilson signs on a one month loan from Bristol City.

August 22nd: The Bees earn a point at St Marys with a 1-1 draw with Cleveland Taylor scoring the late equaliser. Andy Scott was delighted. Cleveland Taylor says "In every game we are the underdogs. It's something that doesn't phase me. We will prove people wrong, we have belief in this squad."

August 24th: Brentford's transfer fee to be paid to Notts County for Myles Weston is decided by a tribunal. On the same day the Club announces that 99% of Bees United members agree to Mathew Benham taking over the Club. Brentford reserves lose 2-0 to Aldershot.

August 28th: Brentford draw 1-1 with Oldham at Griffin Park. Kevin O'Connor scored the Bees goal from the penalty spot. Kevin O'Connor commented "It's probably two points dropped. We are disappointed we haven't won."
