SCOTT LOOKS FOR IMPROVEMENT
Brentford manager Andy Scott said the pre-season defeat to Fulham highlighted areas where his side need to improve.
The Bees were beaten 5-0 by their Premiership neighbours in the Kevin O'Connor testimonial match and Scott said as a fitness exercise it was very useful.
He said he was disappointed with aspects of his team's display but said the second half was better than the first.
"Fulham are a good side and this highlighted areas we need to improve on," said Scott. "Second half was much better in terms of organisation and people doing their jobs.
"We were playing better as a team
"They are Premiership quality, they take advantage of areas where you don't do the job properly.
"It's good to get the first friendly out of the way and it was a good crowd for Kevin."
Scott said he was not concerned by the result but needed to see things from his players in terms of how they were working together and how the new signings were integrating.
He added he was still looking to add a few more faces to his squad and was hopeful there may be some movement before the end of the week.
"We want everyone to get through the game unscathed," said Scott. "And they did.
"Everyone worked hard.
"And after that we are looking at areas where we want to see partnerships building up and players learning how we want to play.
"That's the disappointing thing about the first half - things we have done in training we didn't put into practice.
"Second half we were better organised but still have areas to work on."
