McCRACKEN SETTLING IN AT BRENTFORD

Posted on: Wed 28 Jul 2010

Brentford defender David McCracken said he was really pleased to have the opportunity to come to Griffin Park.

The Scottish central defender joined from Milton Keynes Dons in the summer and said he was fitting in well with the squad.

He said he thought the team had played "a lot better" in their 4-0 win over Woking and everything was gearing up well for the start of the season.

McCracken said: "I know the gaffer [Andy Scott] was interested last year [when I moved from Wycombe Wanderers to MK].

"I was really happy to hear he came back in and was still interested.

"Once I came down to see the set up and spoke to the gaffer, to see the way he wants to take the team, it wasn't a difficult decision to sign.

"I feel I have settled in well, I like to get straight in, find out what the boys are about and let them know what I am about - I think that helps.

"Sometimes players take time to settle in, the players here are great and all the new lads have settled in quickly."

McCracken added: "I thought we played a lot better [against Woking], especially going forward.

"We have been working on it in training.

"The base of fitness is in now, we still need to build the game fitness up.

"It's not about working on shape and the way the gaffer wants to play."
