Goalkeeper Simon Moore has set his sights on being between the sticks for Brentford when they open their League One campaign.
The 20-year-old, who made his Brentford début as a last minute substitute on the final day of last season, has featured in four pre-season friendlies and has conceded just two goals.
He said he thought he played well in The Bees' 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace and wants to keep his place.
"My aim is to be number one," said Moore. "I have to compete against Richard Lee, who is number one, but I will do everything I can.
"[And if I play] I will be trying to win the game and keep a clean sheet.
"[The Crystal Palace game] was a really good experience.
"Playing against a Championship team, and a very good team, I thought we did very well and from a personal point of view it was good.
"I thought I was fouled for their goal and in other games you would get that.
"But it's the luck of the draw.
"It's frustrating as it could have been a clean sheet.
"They are a physical team and I thought I did well.
"Defensively we are very solid and we feel we can keep a clean sheet every game."
